Focused shockwave therapy harnesses high-energy sound waves which are delivered precisely to your area of injury to activate tissue repair at a cellular level. Allowing us to pinpoint damaged tissue, target the region and treat it effectively with no impact on healthy tissue.
How it works
Our high-spec apparatus uses focused shockwaves that reach their peak precisely on the target area. This mechanical stimulus, known as Mechanotransduction, induces biochemical changes in living tissue which, on a molecular level, affects gene expression and can promote cell growth, protein synthesis, release of growth factors, stimulation of stem cells and lubricin production.
The treatment can provide an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial effect whilst promoting micro-circulation and metabolic activity. It’s also proven to reduce the chemical substance in the tissues that induces chronic pain, as well as reverse the growth of pain nerve receptors, meaning that we can get rid of your distress, not mask it. It is one of the few technologies that has been shown to effectively deal with pain treatment of the musculoskeletal system.
