Professor Jariwala is a Consultant Upper Limb (Shoulder, Elbow, Hand and Wrist) and Trauma Surgeon in NHS Tayside, Dundee, Scotland. He undertakes his private practice at Heal Health Clinic in Dundee, and BMI Kings Park in Stirling.

His elective practice is purely upper limb dealing with shoulder, elbow and wrist, and hand disorders. He treats patients with shoulder pain arising from frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tendinitis, rotator cuff tear, shoulder instability, and shoulder arthritis and undertakes surgical management of these when appropriate. Prof. Jariwala manages patients with tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, and elbow arthritis. He also manages patients with carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, wrist and thumb arthritis, trigger fingers, Dupuytren's disease and de Quervain's disease. In addition, he reviews and manages patients with on-going issues from fractures of the upper limb such as proximal humerus fractures, clavicle fractures, radial head fractures, elbow fractures and with complex wrist and forearm injuries. He offers his patients evidence-based advice and management for their conditions.

Over the last, five years as the Upper Limb Lead for NHS Tayside Orthopaedics, Prof. Jariwala has introduced one-stop upper limb shoulder clinics, established multiple upper limb disorder management guidelines and pathways and he collaborates with the physiotherapists to restructure the rehabilitation protocols for upper limb services.

With his strong academic background, numerous (more than 50) peer-reviewed publications, being involved in multiple research projects and teaching, training, and supervision for both under and post-graduate students and trainees,in 2019 he was appointed as the Director (Head) of Academic Orthopaedic Department at the University of Dundee and promoted as a Clinical Reader (Honorary) with the University of Dundee. In September 2022 he was been appointed Honorary Professor by members of the Honorary Appointments Committee at the School of Medicine at University of Dundee.
