My first visit.
Before you arrive
Prior to your appointment, please complete our online consent form and ensure your details are up to date. These will either be completed during online booking or sent to you via email before your appointment.
Dundee Clinic
When you arrive at Heal, you will be welcomed by our reception team and shown to the waiting area.
St Andrews - Heal at SALT
We are based within SALT St Andrews, a modern gym located in the former Madras College building at the Kilrymont Campus. The facility forms part of the SPACE student accommodation complex.
Please enter the gym through the side door beside the car park and take a seat. There is no reception at this location, but your therapist will be expecting you and will come to collect you at your scheduled appointment time.
What to expect
Your physiotherapist will begin by asking questions about your symptoms and general health. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions or share anything you feel is relevant.
A physical examination will follow, including any appropriate tests to help diagnose your condition. Treatment will usually begin during this first session, and your physiotherapist will explain their findings clearly.
You will likely be given some exercises to complete at home. If further sessions are needed, an estimated treatment plan will be discussed.
What to wear
You can wear whatever you feel comfortable in. However, to allow for a thorough assessment, you may be asked to remove or adjust certain clothing. You are welcome to bring shorts or loose-fitting clothing to change into if preferred.
If your injury affects running, it may be helpful to bring trainers and shorts, as you could be asked to use a treadmill during your session.
Please be assured that you will never be expected to undress if you are uncomfortable.
Anything else?
If your physiotherapist feels further investigation is required, they may recommend a referral to your GP or suggest access to one of our private specialists for an additional fee. This will always be discussed with you during your appointment.
