Sports Profiling
Sports Profiling can be tailored to the individual needs of the athlete. Profiling involves the assessment of posture, muscle strength, flexibility, joint mobility, dynamic and sport specific movement and strength. It is a useful tool to identify potential injuries. It can also be used to direct sport performance improvement, and strength and conditioning goals, to maximise athletic potential through more efficient body mechanics.
The appointment normally lasts 1 hour and then at the end of the hour the physiotherapist will write up a Sports Profile report. This can then be sent to the athlete, his or her coach, strength and conditioning coach and any other relevant support professionals. This will include key findings and guide recommendations.
It can be useful for the athlete’s coach and/or strength and conditioning coach to attend the Sports Profile.
