Our sports specialists can run workshops and seminars for athletes, coaches and sports associations covering a variety of topics including warming up and cooling down, medication in sport and nutrition and hydration in sport.  These workshops can be developed to your needs.

Heal Physiotherapy have an accredited McKenzie therapist who is able to develop self treatment programs tailored to the lifestyle of each client. The McKenzie treatment uniquely emphasises education and active patient involvement. Most clients can successfully treat themselves to decrease pain quickly, and restore function and independence.

Sports Massage

Lesley Dawson has a Diploma in Sports Massage, and is a member of the Sports Massage Association (SMA) level 4 and the Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation (SMTO). She also has an Advanced Diploma in Sports Therapy level 5, a Diploma in Clinical Aromatherapy and is a qualified instructor in baby massage.

The SMA is the UK’s professional body for sports massage practitioners, which is recognised by all major sporting bodies in the UK, including the British Olympic Association and UK Sport.

Lesley has experience of working with elite athletes and those in professional sport. She currently provides sports massage services to Sport Scotland Institute of Sport and Tayside & Fife Institute of Sport athletes. Lesley, who originally qualified as a registered nurse and midwife, is committed to continuing professional development and education, in order to promote and maintain high standards in sports massage.

Regardless of whether you exercise to keep fit or compete at club or international level, sports massage can offer a variety of benefits (even for those who prefer not to exercise) such as:

Podiatry

Bharti Rajput is a state and HPC registered podiatrist who gained an honours degree at the London Foot Hospital and School of Podiatric Medicine. She is currently completing her PhD in Biomechanics and Medicine at the University of Dundee. As a busy clinician, Bharti is passionate about caring for all aspects of foot and lower limb injuries. Her personal motto is "Love your feet: live your life!"

Declan Fields has over 10 years experience working as an NHS dietician. He has specific interest in exercise and sports nutrition and is a member of the Dieticians in Exercise & Sports Nutrition BDA Group. He is studying the BDA Accredited Sports Dieticians course and is a YMCA qualified fitness instructor. As an NHS clinical specialist his key areas of experience are in weight management, diabetes, counselling skills and motivating behaviour change.

Neil Donald (B.Sc, C.S.C.S, A.S.C.Chas) has a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Science. He is also a certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and an accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach

As Strength & Conditioning Coach with Tayside and Fife Institute of Sport, Neil works with Area Institute of Sport and Scottish Institute of Sport high performance athletes. He has experience working with all levels of athlete — youth, international and Olympic in a wide variety of sports
